Literally feels like I’m wearing another sock on top of mine with a cloud at the bottom of my feet.
The shoe runs a little small, so I would go a half size up. Everything is comfortable except the top part of the tongue, it does tend to rub. It's bearable, but I would suggest higher socks. I would however probably buy another pair.
I like my new Hovr shoes. I’ve been wanting a pair for a long time but couldn’t pull the trigger due to the price. My wife got these in khaki for me as an anniversary gift. They took a week and half to come in. They are a little tight in the tow box but my concern is a half size bigger will be too big and cause my calves and arches to ache. Overall I really like the shoes and am debating on whether I want another pair in a different color.
Shoe feels cheap. Difficult to put on, requires a shoe horn. Cushion level is average.
Good looking shoe.
The style seems old school which is nice.
The first phantom style is amazing.
Back story: So last month I decided I wanted some nicer Under Armour Shoes and bought the Speedform Gemini 2's to run in. They looked amazing and felt amazing as long as I didn't walk for run in them. Yeah right. Not good. My first 5 mile run my right ankle was bleeding from the awful rubbing and I haven't worn them since.
I saw the Phantom SE shoes and honestly loved the look so much and the fact that I was curious about the bluetooth connectivity that I just bought them any way knowing I could possibly have another pair of shoes sitting on my shoe rack getting no love. Wow was I wrong. These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever run in. I have a very normal foot with normal arches and I'm the smallest 9.5 so my regular size actually fit me fantastic and snug but not too much. The Silt brown with the gray midsole is a great looking shoe. The UA app is helpful especially if you are running outside since it tracks location among other things. I do mostly treadmill so I'm curious what is off either the treadmill or my app since my app records me at the 1 mile mark well before the treadmill does. Either way, These are one of my favorite pair of shoes that I've bought for running ever. I love these and the best part is unlike my speedform Gemini 2s they don't rub my ankle raw. ;)
I am usually skeptical of overblown descriptions and reviews, but man there are quite a few things to say about these shoes. So right off the bat, please get a half size bigger than your normal size, as Under Armour tends to make their shoes a little smaller than the advertised size (which is weird, because you'd think they'd just change the number, but that's just me.) So like all other reviews say: Get a .5 size larger shoe! But as for this specific shoe, MAN is it comfortable! At first, the shoe is really hard to put on, but after taking it out for a spin for two days or so it becomes much easier to put on. It fits like a glove, and walking on them feels very, very comfortable. My running is a bit funky and does a great job at helping me correct my form. Take this with a grain of salt, though, as I use it a lot for walking and training because I have shin splints, so it's hard to run. But the few times that I have ran, it delays the pain for a little longer. I also have low arches and put lots of pressure on my heels, so it also helps alleviate that pain. Overall, it is an excellent shoe to buy! "Man, but these shoes are expensive..." Yes, they are, but trust me, you'll be glad you did. Quick note, the Bluetooth is a little funky so I don't even use it, but it's kinda cool to have it.
Probably the best sneakers made for running I’ve ever put on feet. UA really outdid itself with this design, color, and style. They’re extremely comfortable, snug, and perfectly made for running. I literally ran faster and longer with these on, and they lessened the impact for my knees.
I also love the fact that they’re stylish and can be worn to chill not just when working out. The HOVR is a win and a great investment.
As I have never purchased shoes online before, I was a bit nervous buying shoes without trying them on. Reading reviews, all of which stated that the Phantom SE ran small, I live chatted with customer service. On his recommendation, I went up a half size. When they arrived, I had never seen a shoe like these shoes. The tongue is not separate from the body of the shoe as in others. I needed a shoehorn to get them on properly. But, once on , they were tight. And the size was correct. And they are comfortable. I am strictly a walker, I have used them for a week, & am very pleased with the fit, performance, & look. Will probably buy the latest version later this year.
This shoes are great for running I definitely recommend them.
A little background... I started a focused effort to lose weight and get back in shape last year. So far I have lost 70 lbs with another 10 lbs to go to reach my target. The first part of my weight loss was focused on diet. Over the last few months, I have started distance running with a goal of doing a half-marathon in 2020.
I have been using the My Fitness Pal app since I started my diet. When the time came to get new running shoes, I did my research and ended up selecting the Phantom SE. Having a shoe that would integrate with the app was a significant reason for my purchase - supplemented by reviews and feedback I found online. I've had the shoes for a little over a month now so they're broken in. Here are my observations to date:
Sizing: I've lost a lot of weight (including in my feet) so I wasn't quite sure what size to order - particularly given the number of reviewers saying the sneakers run small. I ended up using the online comparison tool (using my ancient Saucony sneakers as reference) and ordered US size 10. I wear running socks and I have no issues with the sizing being on the small side.
Comfort: I had issues at first with a little pain in the ball of my foot. Not sure if that was due to a new/different shoe or upping my mileage. Whatever the reason, the pain disapated in a week or so. Since then I have no issues with comfort. I will say to make sure you get socks that extend just past the heel (as others have commented). I didn't do this once and thankfully noticed the issue within the first mile or so.
Misc: I've had a problem over the last week or so picking up rocks in the center of the sole where the circle (sensor?) is located. One time I was able to free the rock by dragging my foot, the other time I had to stop to free the rock.
The feedback provided by the app is useful to me as I consider myself a beginner. I do notice I am continuing to tinker with the calibration to get the mileage correct - it seems to be drifting back and forth over time. That's a nitpicking issue IMO but that's all I can think of when it comes to issues.
